This is a kiosk concept for Lumen, a fictional upscale bar. This kiosk would be located at the table to make ordering a breeze and increase product sales. This project went through the steps of research, mockups, designs, and prototypes to reach its final product.
Research
I went out to existing kiosks to research what was working and what was not. I also rated my findings based on the 10 Heuristics of UX.
Planning and Wireframing
I created a workflow plan, mockups, and wireframes to establish a good base for the project.
Designing
Animations
Animations help bring a kiosk to life! Little things like playful idle screens or buttons that make you want to keep pressing them all make the user more engaged in the product.

Reflection
In doing this project, I discovered I really love thinking through every user action and possibility despite how tedious it can be. Throughout the process, there was a huge emphasis on thinking through all the possible actions that could be done, and possible concerns or errors that could occur.
I was originally a bit frustrated about going down the path of being able to divide up a check amongst a multiple people in one party, but it ended up being an exciting opportunity to really make the project unique. It raised questions like: What if I only want to pay for the drinks I ordered? What if I want to split an appetizer with one person? What about the entire table?
This was my first time really diving deep into possibilities like this in a prototype and heavily leaning into research for a project too, going out and doing heuristic evaluations for existing kiosks. I am quite happy with how the project turned out, and feel like it would be a great addition to a real-life environment.
